Use Configuration → Printing to manage printers, job-label templates, stock-label templates, job tickets and receipts. Labels are sent to a registered Star CloudPRNT printer. Job tickets and receipts use your browser or device's print dialog instead.
For labels that identify bikes and loose parts, see printing job labels. The steps below cover the shared printer setup and stock barcode labels.
Check the printer and label roll
You need a Star printer with a CloudPRNT-compatible network interface, connected by Ethernet or Wi-Fi. A model name or Ethernet socket alone does not establish CloudPRNT support. Bluetooth-only printing is not supported by this label workflow.
We have checked physical label output and QR scanning on a TSP700II equipped for CloudPRNT. For another model or interface, check with support before buying hardware. Star's supported-model and firmware information explains its CloudPRNT requirements.
Load a suitable label roll and note the actual sticker dimensions. Choose the same dimensions in the template; a 55 × 30 mm label needs a 55 × 30 mm template. Measure the sticker rather than adding the backing strip or gaps to its size.
Connect the printer
Connect the printer to the office network and turn it on. For Ethernet, check the cable and socket lights.
Find its local IP address. A network configuration printout may show it, but the ordinary FEED self-test does not show an IP on every interface. If it is missing, check the router's connected Ethernet devices or use Star's network utility.
Do not rely on the router's device name: a working printer may appear as unknown. Match its MAC address with the printer's network settings or interface information.
Open the printer's IP address in a browser on the same network. Sign in using its administrator credentials.
Find CloudPRNT, enable it and enter this Server URL exactly:
https://api.bikebook.co.uk/api/cloudprnt.Submit the setting, then complete the printer's Save and restart sequence. On Star interfaces with separate Submit and Save controls, Submit alone does not finish saving the configuration. Follow the interface's own prompts.
In Bikebook, open Configuration → Printing, choose Add Printer, enter a recognisable name and the printer's MAC address, then register it. Check its connection status after it polls Bikebook.
The printer needs outbound HTTPS access to api.bikebook.co.uk. You do not need to expose its local web settings to the internet. For model-specific controls, use Star's CloudPRNT client settings.
Create or customise a stock template
Under Stock labels, open a template or choose New Template. Job-label templates are managed separately under Job labels.
Give the template a name and choose its Label Size preset, or enter custom width and height in millimetres.
Choose Label Separation for the loaded media and printer: Full Cut, Partial Cut or Feed to Black Mark. Use the description shown with each option to choose the suitable behaviour.
Set Alignment feed before printing if the printer should advance to the next black mark before the first label. This controls the initial alignment separately from label separation.
Turn on Set as default template if you want this stock template selected by default.
Select a field in the preview to edit its settings. Drag rows to reorder fields, use the arrows to place fields side by side, and use the bin icon to move a field into Hidden Fields. Select a hidden field to add it back.
Use Test print to choose the printer and number of sample labels. Check the actual paper before saving or printing a larger batch.
Choose Save when the layout is ready. On desktop the action is at the top; on a phone it stays at the bottom of the editor.
The available fields include product and variation names, SKU, price, barcode, brand, category, location, supplier, stock quantity and custom header/footer text. Field settings depend on the selected field.
On phones, tap a field to open its settings and scroll to reach the rest of the template and test controls.
The preview uses sample data and approximates the output. Check a real product as well as the sample: long names, prices and barcode values can occupy different amounts of space.
Print stock barcode labels
Open Stock → Label Printing.
Select the items and set the number of labels for each. You can use search, filters and pagination to build the selection. Reducing a row's quantity to zero removes it from the selection.
Choose Print Barcode Labels in the page header.
Review the printer, stock template, preview, selected items and quantities. Adjust quantities or remove items as needed; Remove all clears the selection.
Choose Print Labels and watch the request's progress. Check the actual output before starting another batch.
A queued request may continue when the printer reconnects. A completion message or printer acknowledgement does not prove that every sticker is readable or that a barcode scans. If the outcome is uncertain, check what printed before choosing to print again; otherwise you may create duplicates.
Troubleshooting
Printer is offline or not listed
Check the printer's power, Ethernet/Wi-Fi connection, registered MAC address and CloudPRNT settings. Confirm the Server URL is https://api.bikebook.co.uk/api/cloudprnt, then save and restart the printer if you changed it. Refresh Printing after the printer has had time to poll.
If you cannot open the local web interface, confirm the IP address in the router and that your computer is on the same network. Do not factory-reset a working office printer just because its router name is unfamiliar.
Text is clipped, labels drift or barcodes do not scan
Check the template's physical dimensions first. Then check label separation, initial alignment feed, field size and layout. Keep a whole barcode or QR code on one sticker with clear space around it. Print a small test after each adjustment.
Language or currency looks wrong
The app's language controls its interface labels. Product names, SKUs and custom header/footer text keep their saved wording. Printed prices use the template business's currency and may use an ISO currency code such as GBP rather than an on-screen symbol. Check the business currency and saved product/template values before changing them.
The result is unclear
Check the paper and the printer before sending another request. For the job-label history and checked retry flow, follow Print history and recovery. Contact support with the printer model/interface, template dimensions, time of the request and a redacted photo of the output.
