How To Add a Service Category

Updated over a week ago

This guide explains how to create and manage service categories within your workshop system. Service categories help you organise your offerings, making it easier for both your team and your customers to understand the types of services you provide.

Navigating to categories

To begin, locate the main navigation menu on the left hand side of your workshop interface. Click on services, then on categories.

Managing existing categories

Once you are in the categories section, you will see a list of your current service categories. There are default ones there that you can use, modify, or delete (the three dots at the end of the category row).

  • Changing a category name: Click on the category you wish to modify (the blank space on that category's row). A popup will appear. Type in the new name and ensure you save your changes using the save button.

  • Enabling or disabling a category: On the same popup, you can check or uncheck the option to enable a category. Disabling a category means it won't be visible, internally (other areas of Workshop) or externally (the booking widget on your website).

Creating a new service category

If you need to add a new group of services, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the new category button, found in the top-right corner of the categories page.

  2. Click the button to open a new field or window.

  3. Type in the desired name for your category (for example, accessory fitting or suspension overhaul).

  4. Click save to confirm. Your new category will now appear in your list.

Assigning services to categories

After setting up your categories, you need to link your individual services to them:

  • Navigate to the services section within the services menu.

  • For each individual service, find the dropdown menu or field labelled category.

  • Select the appropriate category for that service (for example, assigning a bronze e-bike service to an electric bike services category).

  • Save the changes for each service to ensure they are correctly organised.
