How To Add A Service

Updated over 3 weeks ago

This guide details the process of adding individual services to your Workshop by bikebook system and assigning them to the service categories you have previously defined. These individual services form the core of your job report cards.

Steps:

  1. Ensure Service Categories are Set: Before adding individual services, it's essential that you have already created your desired service categories (as outlined in the "How To Add A Service Category" guide). These categories will help you organize your services logically.

  2. Navigate to the Services Section:

    • Locate the main navigation menu on the left-hand side of your Workshop by bikebook interface.

    • Click on "SERVICES".

  3. Access All Services:

    • Within the "SERVICES" section, click on "All Services". This will display a comprehensive list of all the individual services currently configured in your system.

  4. Modify Pre-Set Services (Optional):

    • You may see some pre-set services already listed. You can adapt these to your needs:

    • Click on any of the pre-set service names. This will open a detailed view where you can edit its properties.

    • Change Details: Within the service details, you can modify the:

      • Name: Update the name to accurately reflect the service you offer (e.g., "Standard Bike Check," "Gear Adjustment").

      • Price: Set the appropriate price for this service.

      • Time: Specify the estimated duration it takes to complete this service.

      • Description: Provide a detailed explanation of what this service includes. This will be visible on job report cards and potentially to customers.

    • After making your changes, ensure you click "Save" or a similar button to apply them.

  5. Add Details About Your Service Packages: When modifying or creating services, pay close attention to the details you provide. This information will populate your job report cards, ensuring clarity and accuracy for both your mechanics and your customers. Include specific details about what each service entails.

  6. Create a New Service:

    • If you need to add a service that isn't covered by the pre-sets, look for the "New Service" button. This is typically located in the top right-hand corner of the "All Services" page.

    • Click on "New Service".

    • A form will appear where you need to enter the details for your new service:

      • Name: Provide a clear and concise name for the service.

      • Category: Use the dropdown menu or selection tool to assign this new service to one of the service categories you previously created (e.g., assign "Bronze Electric Bike service package" to the "Electric Bike Services" category).

      • Price: Enter the price for this service.

      • Time: Specify the estimated service duration.

      • Description: Add a detailed description of the work involved in this service.

      • (Optional) What's Included: Some systems may have a specific field to list the components or steps included in the service.

    • Once you have filled in all the necessary details, click "Save" or a similar button to add the new service to your system.

By following these steps, you can build a comprehensive list of individual services within your Workshop by bikebook account, organized under relevant categories. These services will then be readily available for use when creating job report cards for your customers' repairs and maintenance.
