This guide explains how to add specific service line items to your job report templates within Workshop by bikebook. These line items allow you to detail the individual tasks or components included within a service package, providing a more granular breakdown for your mechanics and customers.
Steps:
Navigate to the Services Section:
Locate the main navigation menu on the left-hand side of your Workshop by bikebook interface.
Click on "SERVICES".
Access All Services:
Within the "SERVICES" section, click on "All Services". This will display a list of your configured service packages and individual services.
Select the Service Package to Modify:
Click on the name of the specific service package you want to add a new line item to. For example, if you want to add a specific check to your "Basic Service Package," click on "Basic Service Package." This will open the details and configuration options for that package.
Locate Service Item Dropdowns:
Within the service package's configuration page, scroll down. You will find various dropdown menus organized by bike components or general service areas. Examples include: "Frame/Fork," "Handlebar/Headset/Stem," "Wheels/Tyres," "Drivetrain," "Brakes," etc. These represent sections where you can list the specific tasks performed or components checked/serviced.
Manage Existing and Add New Service Items:
Review Pre-defined Selections: Within each of these dropdown menus, you will see pre-defined service line items that Workshop by bikebook has included as suggestions.
Remove Pre-defined Items: If you do not want to include a pre-defined item in your service package, simply untick the checkbox next to that item. This will remove it from the service package.
Add Your Own Service Item: To add a custom service line item within a specific dropdown (e.g., under "Frame/Fork"), click the button that says "Add Service Item to XXX", where "XXX" will be the name of the dropdown section (e.g., "Add Service Item to Frame/Fork").
A new text field will appear. Type in the name of the specific service line item you want to add (e.g., "Check for frame damage," "Inspect fork seals").
Once you have typed the name, ensure you save it. There might be an "Add" button next to the field or a general "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
You can repeat this process to add multiple custom service line items within each relevant dropdown section.
Customize Line Item Names (If Needed): Within the dropdowns, you might also have the ability to directly change the name of the pre-defined service line items if you wish to use different terminology. Click on the name to edit it and then save your changes.
By following these steps, you can build detailed service packages by adding specific and customizable service line items within relevant categories. This ensures that your job reports are comprehensive, clearly outlining the work performed for each service package, which benefits both your mechanics and your customers.
