Defining your service areas for collection and returns is crucial for managing your mobile operations efficiently and transparently. Workshop by bikebook allows you to specify precise geographical zones and set associated costs, which are automatically added to customer invoices.
Follow these steps to set up or adjust your collection and return areas:
βStep-by-Step Instructions:
Go to the Left-Hand Menu
From your Workshop by bikebook dashboard, locate the main navigation menu on the left side of your screen.
Go to 'Working areas'
In the left-hand menu, find and click on 'Working areas'. This section allows you to manage the geographical regions where your workshop provides services.
Select 'Yes - I offer collection & Return Services'
On the 'Working areas' page, you'll see an option to enable collection and return services. Make sure the toggle or checkbox for 'Yes - I offer collection & Return Services' is selected. This will reveal the options for defining your areas.
Click 'Edit Collection & Return Areas'
Once 'Yes - I offer collection & Return Services' is enabled, a button or link titled 'Edit Collection & Return Areas' will appear. Click on this to open the map interface for drawing your service zones.
Understand the Map Tools (Hand and Shape)
When the map loads, look at the top of the map interface:
Hand Icon: This tool allows you to drag around the map to pan and view different locations. Select it when you want to move the map without drawing.
Shape Icon (e.g., Polygon Tool): This tool is for drawing your service areas. Select this when you are ready to define a new zone.
Using the Drawing Tool, Create a Working Area
Select the drawing tool (shape icon).
Click on the map to start drawing your first point.
Continue clicking to add more points, outlining the perimeter of your desired collection and return zone.
Important: Make sure you connect the dots up at the end by clicking back on your starting point. This will close the shape and define the area.
You can draw multiple distinct areas if needed.
Input a Cost for the Working Area
As you complete each drawn area, you will see a new entry or "slot" appear at the bottom of the page, corresponding to that specific shape you just drew on the map.
In this slot, you can input a cost associated with that working area. Enter the monetary value that will be charged for collections and returns within that specific zone.
Note: These costs will be added to your customer's invoice automatically when someone books a collection or return service with you from within that defined area.
Tips for Defining Areas:
Be Precise: Take your time to accurately draw your service zones to avoid confusion for customers.
Multiple Zones: If you have different pricing tiers for different distances, draw separate areas for each tier and assign the corresponding cost.
Review Regularly: Periodically review your service areas to ensure they align with your business strategy and operational capabilities.
By clearly defining your collection and return areas, you provide transparent pricing to your customers and streamline the booking process for mobile services!
