Workshop by bikebook allows you to implement a dynamic pricing model for your collection and return services, enabling you to charge different rates based on the geographical distance or specific areas your customers are located in. This ensures your pricing accurately reflects the travel costs and time involved.
This guide builds upon the process of defining your working areas, focusing specifically on how to assign varying costs to each zone.
Prerequisite: Before adjusting prices, ensure you have enabled and accessed the 'Edit Collection & Return Areas' map as detailed in the "How To Adjust My Working Areas/Radius's For Collection and Returns" guide.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Go to the Left-Hand Menu
Start from your Workshop by bikebook dashboard and locate the main navigation menu on the left side.
Go to 'Working areas'
In the left-hand menu, click on 'Working areas'. This is where you configure your service regions.
Ensure 'Yes - I offer collection & Return Services' is Selected
Verify that the option 'Yes - I offer collection & Return Services' is enabled. This is necessary to access the map interface for defining your service zones.
Click 'Edit Collection & Return Areas'
Click on 'Edit Collection & Return Areas' to open the interactive map where you can draw and manage your zones.
Draw Your Different Radius's (Working Areas)
Using the drawing tool (shape icon) at the top of the map, meticulously draw each distinct geographical area (or "radius").
For example:
Draw a small area closest to your workshop (e.g., "Zone A").
Draw a slightly larger area further out, perhaps encompassing "Zone A" or being adjacent to it ("Zone B").
Continue drawing as many distinct zones as you need for your pricing tiers.
Remember to connect the dots to close each shape.
Assign Specific Costs to Each Area
As you complete drawing each separate working area on the map, a corresponding entry or "slot" will automatically appear at the bottom of the page.
For each of these individual slots, you will find a field where you can input a specific cost.
Crucially, this is where you adjust your prices for different "radius's":
For "Zone A" (your closest area), you might enter a lower cost (e.g., $5.00).
For "Zone B" (your mid-distance area), you might enter a higher cost (e.g., $10.00).
For "Zone C" (your furthest area), you might enter your highest cost (e.g., $15.00).
Ensure you enter the exact monetary value for each zone.
Note: These costs will be added to your customer's invoice automatically when they book a collection or return service and their location falls within one of your defined working areas. The system will detect the correct zone and apply the associated price.
Tips for Effective Pricing by Radius:
Logical Zones: Define your areas based on logical geographical boundaries or common travel routes to ensure fairness and simplicity.
Clear Pricing Strategy: Determine your pricing tiers (e.g., "Local," "Suburban," "Extended") before you start drawing to ensure consistency.
Customer Transparency: While the cost is automatically added, consider clearly communicating your pricing structure to customers on your booking page or FAQ.
Regular Review: Periodically review your defined areas and costs to ensure they remain competitive and profitable as your business or fuel costs change.
By leveraging this feature, you can accurately charge for the effort involved in collection and return services, providing a clear and fair pricing structure for your customers!
